Privacy Policy

Black Tech Midwest is a nonprofit organization in St. Louis, Missouri, founded by Omar Perkins Jr. Questions about this policy can be sent to operkins@blacktechmidwest.com.

When you submit a newsletter signup, contact form, travel interest form, opportunity submission or create an account, we store the information you provide (such as name, email address and message) in our website database.

We use your information to respond to inquiries, manage accounts, review community opportunities, maintain newsletter and travel interest lists, and coordinate events and partnerships. If you accept optional tracking, Google Analytics can collect page views, device and browser information and ticket-link activity; Meta may receive page and ticket-interest events, cookie identifiers and network information to measure outreach. We do not send form contents or email addresses in these tracking events.

Access to stored submissions is restricted to authorized organizers and service operators. We keep information only as needed for these purposes and applicable legal obligations. You may request deletion by email; some transaction records may need to be retained by Eventbrite or under applicable law.

An email marketing provider has not yet been selected. Until one is configured, newsletter signups are stored only in our database. When a provider is selected, this policy will be updated to name it.

Essential cookies keep the site and your session working. Optional analytics and advertising tools — Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel — load only after you give consent, and only when they have been configured. Google Fonts delivers the existing site fonts and may receive network and browser information when your browser requests them. See our Cookie Policy.

We do not sell personal information. Data may be shared with service providers when configured: Eventbrite (ticketing), Google (analytics, with consent), Meta (advertising measurement, with consent) and our email provider once selected.
